After attending sewing lessons for about two and a half years, my sewing teacher was given the opportunity to immigrate.

I realized I still wanted to sew, and so did everyone else. So ‘Sew Crazy’ was born.

A good friend from sewing class introduced me to the premises at The Italian Club, which were to perfect to pass on. A safe, comfortable, creative environment. Then I found amazing teachers . We opened on the 9th August 2019.

Here’s hoping we go from strength to strength…. because we love to sew.

I’m a fashion Designer and Sewing Teacher. I have been working at sew Crazy almost three years now. It’s been nothing but an amazing experience, I have grown as a teacher and a designer. I have managed to use most of my skilled acquired from university during my Four years of studying at the university of Johannesburg. I was a pattern and garments technology tutor for the first year students during my B-tech. Being a tutor taught me so much about communication and it improved my listening skills, this helped me soo much as I am now able to teach people of all ages to sew and I am always trying to find new ways of improving my communication skills with students during classes.

During my varsity years I interned at a manufacturing company called Comage manufacturers and I learnt so much about quality control and how the Industry operates. I always use the skills that I acquired during my internship when it comes to the garments being produced for our online store and I always look for ways to improve the quality of the garments and also to  simplify the pattern that I make for Sew Crazy.

I have also had the opportunity to intern at a modelling agency a year after I finished university, that was the best experience ever even though it demanded so much of my time in terms of attending events such as fashion week and photo-shoots. Having to show up at the photo-shoots in the early hours of the morning taught me to be always punctual because time is money, all in all the experiences was worth it. When my internship ended I was at home doing some private jobs and alterations, when I got the opportunity to work for Sew Crazy I was excited about it because that meant I would be busy everyday without having to spend time sitting at home doing nothing. Sew Crazy grown as Company and I’m glad that I have been past of that growth and being able to help others with their journeys of sewing and also start their own small businesses.

Presently our sewing school is a domestic sewing catering to anyone who wants to learn how to sew. Our present manuals include beginners, intermediate 1&2, advanced, Homeware 1&2 and Bag making course. Which provides sewers with an overview skill of sewing independently in their own space whether be at home or in work space. We are currently being accredited and writing our own accreditation for dressmakers and tailors and industry machine sewers.

I am from Soweto Molapo and a very energetic guy that matriculated in 2018 from a Technical institution called Ithemba Institution of Technology. In my past year of school, I started pursuing Engineering Graphics and design at Technisa, but unfortunately my studies couldn’t be pursued further because of funds.

My unemployment years started in 2020 having to face the pandemic of COVID 19 but it stopped me from nothing all because of my enthusiasm in creativity where my luck came and got to be introduced and employed at Sew Crazy which I’m now a tailor and teacher. I must say that’s a very great industry to be in. I’m currently pursuing my goals and achievements at Sew Crazy.

Thanks to my knowledge gained at Sew Crazy I am becoming a designer in my Location.
